The beginning of every important journey should begin with “Why”. Why start a business? Why follow “X” career path? Why get married and have children? The answer to this “why” gives meaning to our journey.
If you were to ask Alberto why you should become an effective communicator, he would tell you that after spending 20 years in the health care field it amazes him how highly educated people still have a hard time getting their points across, and how people with no additional education past a high school diploma sometimes struggle to get ahead. He has also witness the opposite, but in very rare cases. He will tell you that your level of education is completely divorced from your ability to communicate effectively, but that he has seen a direct correlation between the ability to get ones point across effectively and personal success. That if you want to succeed in life, learning how to communicate effectively should become your top priority.
Alberto believes whole heartedly that there is a fine balance between what you say and how you say it. This balance is not a matter of percentages and it is different from person to person making the journey towards becoming an effective communicator unique to every one of us.
For these past 20 years Alberto has been trying out his theories and learning from top communicators in different fields like health care, real state and business. For the past 5 years he has been an active member of Toastmasters International, an educational organization with the core mission to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Within this organization Alberto has participated in many local speech contests, winning some, losing others, but always learning what it takes to effectively deliver a message in different settings.
Alberto is an 8 year veteran of the US Army and Army National Guard. He holds degrees in Biology, from the University of Puerto Rico, Cytotechnology, from the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and a Masters in Business Administration from the American Military University. His education and careers expand close to 25 years of experience getting his point across in a professional setting. 25 years of trial and error, learning the best approaches to communicate effectively. Approaches, skills and techniques that he would like to share with you.
